Liturgical Ministries

Eucharistic Minister:   The Eucharistic minister distributes God's Body and Blood to the faith community under the form of Bread and Wine. Many individual's first response when asked to be a Eucharistic Minister is "Oh no, not me, I could never". Usually it is not an issue of competence, but more often, they do not believe they are worthy.
Our faith tells us we were made whole by our baptism of being full heirs with
Christ. Who among us has the power to undo what God has done? True, we do need a sense of humility about ourselves. Nevertheless, if we believe we are worthy to receive Communion, we are then also worthy to be Ministers of Communion. Maximum scheduled requirement is twice a month.

Cantor:   A Cantor leads and supports the congregation in singing hymns, psalms and acclamations at Mass and other services while encouraging congregational singing.

If interested, please contact Deanna Cira at 419-224-3080

Altar Server:    This Ministry is open to any Catholic boy or girl in sixth through eighth grade wishing to serve on the Altar during Mass. Initial training is conducted at the beginning of the school year with recurrent training on an as-needed basis.

If interested, contact the parish office at 419-224-3080.

Lector:   As a lector, you have been called to participate in the service of proclaiming the Sacred Scriptures at the liturgy. As a Minister of the Word of God, you do what John the Baptist did. You proclaim over and over, "Prepare the way for the Lord!" Christ is present in His word since it is He Himself who speaks when the Holy Scriptures are read in Church.
As a lector, you are a servant of the Word of God.   An individual is scheduled a maximum of once each month.

If interested, please contact the parish office 419-224-3080

Ushers:     An Usher assists in welcoming the worshippers, the offerings collection, distribution of the Parish Bulletin and responding to any need an individual might have while at the church service.

If interested, please contact the parish office at 419-224-3080.

Vocal Choir:     The Choir leads the congregation and encourages more active participation in Parish religious services, as well enhances the spiritual environment of these services. It is open to anyone interested in raising their voice in song for the Glory of God. Rehearsals are every Thursday at 7:15 p.m. in the church.

If interested, please contact Deanna Cira at 419-224-3080.

Hand-bell Choir:    The Hand bell Choir is part of the Parish Music Ministry. Choir membership is open to all parishioners from grade eight through adult. The Choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in church. The hand bells provide music for weekend Masses two to three times per month. They also take part in the special Liturgies at Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, First Communion, etc.

Anyone with questions about this Ministry should contact Mary Jean Miller at 419-339-2033.

Greeter:     A warm “hello” welcoming everyone to God’s house is so important to our faith community. You have a chance to set the tone for the entire service. To send a feeling to a person that they are welcome and we are glad they are worshipping with us is the goal of a Greeter. It is also a wonderful way to meet and converse with fellow parishioners. Greeters should arrive 20 minutes prior to Mass and stay at their assigned doors until the start of Mass.
